Iran eying world leadership in military high-tech: Defense official
TEHRAN- Iran’s Deputy Minister of Defense Brigadier General Mehdi Farahi has declared Iran’s intention to establish itself as the leading force in cutting-edge military technology in the world.
During his speech at a ceremony commemorating martyr Hasan Tehrani-Moghadam, Farahi emphasized the nation’s newfound self-reliance, contrasting it with pre-revolution era when the salaries of 40,000 American advisors exceeded the entire Imperial Guard’s budget.
“The Ministry of Defense is now strategically focused on advancing future-oriented technologies to excel in modern warfare,” he stated.
Farahi envisioned Iran becoming the primary innovator in high-tech military products and equipment, aiming for achievements that are both prestigious and deterring on the global stage.
Despite historical limitations, Iran witnessed an unprecedented $1 billion revenue in military exports last year, marking a significant shift. This milestone underscores Iran’s growing influence in the international market, setting the stage for continued advancements in military technology and strategic capabilities.
